My name is Elyse McDaniel. I used to hate my name but I have grown to love it because it’s not a common name like most people I know. I am not an ordinary19 year old. I love photography, soccer, running, animals, fried rice, psychology, horseback riding, and anything to do with Alaska. My favorite animals are Tigers and Siberian Huskies. I love doing outdoor activities; I hate being inside except when it storms. When that happens I usually write. I also love strange art such as the kind called surrealism. I am a pretty strange person, especially when it comes to food- I’m very picky. For example, I peel all my toppings off my pizza and I like chocolate milkshakes but not ice cream. Go figure. It takes me about twenty minutes to eat a bowl of Beef ramen noodles. I pronounce them like “ray-men” instead of “rah-men” like everyone else does. I like strange movies such as Donnie Darko, Thirteen, and a Clockwork Orange. Most people would not like them but I do. My grandparents are the most amazing people I have ever met. I love them more than anything and I would do anything in this world for them. They have always been there for me and always will be. I think my mother is the strongest person I’ve met. I look up to her for being a single, independent mother that never leaves me without anything I need. To her, my life is more important than her own. One day I want to be a photojournalist for National Geographic and a Teen Addiction Psychologist. There are other things that I would like to do as well but those are my top goals to achieve. I over anazlyze situations which can be a good thing or it can be a bad thing. I always follow my instincts. I hate conformity but I guess everyone performs a conformed act every now and then. I only clean when I’m alone; I don’t know why that is but I have always been that way. I make my mother leave for hours at a time just so I can clean my room. I am the biggest procrastinator I know. I’m definitely not gloating about that because it is a crappy habit to take part in. I hate wearing flip flops because I think my toes are crooked.  But I get in those “I don’t care” moods a lot so I just find shoes that are cute and not flip flops but still show my toes. I think people see me as something different than what I see. For example, when you look yourself in the mirror you probably see someone a little bit different than how everyone else sees you. I may not be normal, but those kind of people are pretty boring. My life may not be perfect but it’s like a roller coaster…and I love roller coasters.
